Fans love the iconic Roku City screensaver. So, we gave them the first ever look into the live action version. Like the scrolling screensaver, we filled it with plenty of homages to cinema, some hidden Easter Eggs, and a few cameos. We also shot someone in the eye with a flare gun and then had them abducted by aliens.
We made a tourism campaign that encouraged fans to visit Roku from the comfort of home. On the home page, they could click on different locations that took them to our spots, inside their favorite screensaver.
Some folks thought there was some AI used in these spots. Nope. Just the great people at Untold Studios, hard at work.
We were even able to add some Easter Eggs that nodded to the campaign to the Roku screensaver, to tease our ads and fans’ first live action look into the city.
